PRIVACY

We do not require or request any information except what is necessary to process, maintain, and support the services we provide to you/your business or teaching agency. This information is not used for any other purpose and not given to any other person, organization, or agency.

Other specific limited information voluntarily given to us by you, such as written endorsements and testimonials about the value, user-friendliness, or success of your personal or professional use of the course may be quoted on our Endorsements page.

There is a standard posting of each User's name or agency name and contact address on our "Where To Take a Class" webpage (http://www.disasterfirstaid.com/userlist.html) alphabeticaly by state. Except for this listing, which can be removed at your request, we do not publish and do not share your information with any commercial or educational entities without your expressed permission.

Members have the option to publish more information about their activities and classes in Disaster First Aid© as well as information about other courses or services they may offer in addition to Disaster First Aid (for example CPR, AED training, etc.) if desired.

SECURITY

When you purchase anything from our secure shopping cart, your credit or payment information goes directly to AuthorizeNet/BankCard USA. This is a closed secure system. We do not see, handle, or store your secure information on our website.

REFUND/ REPLACEMENT

Full replacement of any defective books or materials upon return of them within 30 days of purchase. Refund upon return of complete unused and undamaged books and/or Instructor Kit Manual & materials within 30 days of purchase. We do not refund or replace any materials that have been lost, damaged, or disabled by the user.

USERS/ SUBSCRIBERS/ MEMBERS defined

USER: A user is anyone who uses the information of Disaster First Aid-When 911 Can’t Come, whether to teach the course or simply uses the book or course for self learning. The definition of a DFA user includes subscribers, members, instructors & assistant instructors hired or contracted by a Disaster First Aid subscriber or member, and any individual or organization presenting or sponsoring a class or classes in this course. Users who are not subscribers, members, or instructors are entitled to utilize this material for their own personal use. They are not permitted to copy, reproduce, or reprint any part of the Disaster First Aid text/handbook or other course-related materials. Requests for permission to quote or reprint excerpts should be directed to “Publisher” and sent to disasterfirstaid@earthlink.net

SUBSCRIBER: Anyone who has purchased the Disaster First Aid Instructor Kit© of Teaching Materials and Instructor Manual shall be considered a Subscriber to the Disaster First Aid Training System. Subscribers are recognized as such and entitled to teach the course in good faith as it is written and in full, without changes, additions, or deletions. They are not permitted to copy, reproduce, or reprint any part of the Disaster First Aid Text/handbook or Instructor Kit materials, except those specified as copyable and found in the "forms" section and "checklists" section of the Instructor Kit. Requests for permission to quote or reprint excerpts should be directed to “Publisher” and sent to disasterfirstaid@earthlink.net

MEMBER: A member can be any individual, group, or organization that teaches this Disaster First Aid© course in good faith, as it is written and without changes, additions or deletions, in an ongoing or recurrent manner. Membership is not required but is optional and provides additional perks such as discounts and ad space on the Disaster First Aid website. See Member Benefits.

Either Subscription or Membership is revocable if the user is deemed to be in deviation from or violation of the Membership Agreement or for other reasons deemed significant and appropriate by Disaster First Aid/ Darkhorse Press US. Membership may be terminated by either the subscriber/member or Disaster First Aid at any time without penalty.

LEGAL POLICIES

The information and techniques in this course are intended to be used in major multi-casualty and mass-casualty emergencies when the normal 911 Emergency Medical systems are overwhelmed and unable to respond immediately to all of the areas and individuals injured and needing help. Disaster First Aid is not a substitute for professional medical or emergency care at any time when that is available.

Disaster First Aid-When 911 Can’t Come© is based on standard EMS (emergency medical services/public safety/disaster rescue) policies and procedures which are current and recognized at this time (2011) adapted and modified for use by citizen volunteers.

The information and actions described in Disaster First Aid@ are standard protocols widely used and recognized in the United States. Many developed countries of the world use similar systems of disaster medical response. However, Disaster First Aid does not provide information about first aid or emergency practices in any country other than the United States.

This course is intended for non-professionals. It is not a certification course, and no cards or certificates are issued by Disaster First Aid Training System. Cards or certificates in recognition of Course Completion may be issued under the name, title, and responsibility of the subsciber/member's teaching agency.

Disaster First Aid© does not approve or certify instructors or agencies who choose to use this program. Disaster First Aid© does not accept responsibility or liability for any individual's or agency's claims to or performance of this course.
